Runescape – Fastest Way to Get to 99 Melee

If you’re in a hurry to max out your melee, then here’s how to do it.

We all want to get to a point where our skills are maxed out. Some of us want to reach this goal quicker than others. If you find yourself in the category of getting the levels up quickly, then you’re in the right place. We’ll be covering the fastest methods to get you to level 99, and whether or not you’ll be parting with Runescape gold along the way.

Level 1-30

It is worth mentioning that the melee aspect of the game is one of the more exciting to level. To start off, we’re going to be focusing on Troll Brutes. These can be found in the Burthorpe cave that is furthest to the north. You’ll notice that at level 2, they only have 50 hitpoints. You will obtain 40 XP for every brute that you kill. They’re also weak to air spells but given how low their hitpoints are, you shouldn’t struggle to kill them off. This method should roughly take around an hour to complete.

Level 30-60

When you have reached level 30, you can then start moving onto Rock Crabs. These creatures will be taking us through the next 30 levels. Unlike the last 30 levels, this will actually take you a bit longer. To get to level 60 using Sand Crabs, you’ll have to spend 3-4 hours to get to the next milestone.

To get to the crabs, you will need to head to the Fremmenik Lodestone. Head to the north along the coast, and you can take advantage of the drops that you can sell on to make RS3. They have 2,550 hitpoints and you’ll gain 233 XP for every kill. They’re weak to water spells, so use them if you have them. It probably won’t take you much longer than 10 seconds to kill them with the right abilities.

Level 60-70

It’s going to take a couple of hours for each melee skill to get to level 70 the quickest way. Now we will be looking into Hellhounds. Weak against your slash weapons, the Hellhounds have 3,300 hitpoints, giving 362 XP for every kill. So if you have slash weapons in your Runescape items, then this will help.

You’ll find the Hellhounds in the Taverley Dungeon. You can also find spirit gems and more useful Runescape items down here, so keep an eye out. These beasts will be aggressive for around ten minutes, though you can take an AFK approach if you have Guthan’s Armour Set.

Level 70-90

More formidable beasts will mean that the next 20 levels will take us up to 15 hours for each skill. This method uses Frost Dragons, which you’ll need to have reached 85 Dungeoneering to encounter them.

Go to the Asgardian Ice Resource Dungeon to locate the Frost Dragons. You’ll receive 1,085 XP for every kill, with each dragon having 8,500 hitpoints. What’s more, you can sell on their bones for 16,000 RS3 gold each. That said, you’ll need to have super-antifire potions in your inventory if you’re going to get the most XP per hour.

Guthan’s Armour Set is a good choice here again, or use Soulsplit if you have it. It will have taken a lot of effort to get you to 85 Dungeoneering. But if you can push on to level 90. you will complete the process even quicker.

Level 90-99

At 90, the last push is going to take a while. It will take a fair few days for you to max it out, and the fastest way to do so is the Fight Cauldron Minigame. You’ll need to have finished Brink of Extinction if you’re going to attempt it. Alternatively, if you don’t want to take that approach, then the next quickest way is Waterfiends. They have 8,000 hitpoints and offer 934 XP for every kill. If you have bolts, then use them here as they are weak to them. Otherwise, you could carry on with Frost Dragons if you like.

Not only are these great ways for you to train your melee skills up to 99, but they also provide Runescape gold in sizeable amounts. It doesn’t feel like as much of a long slog to get to 99 with melee either. The methods can be fun and shouldn’t take you long, especially when you compare them to the alternative techniques.
